The river has never actually been dry (I used a picture of it on last year's Earth Day entry, "Surviving Plutopia"--April 22, 2008), but is certainly flowing more quickly and deeply than at any time since the '30s. Martha's pictures of the river and its context are lovely.Owlfarmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15373358232893937182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343122535318547716.post-18587707006438411772009-10-20T19:18:40.579-07:002009-10-20T19:18:40.579-07:00Beautiful shots. Well I remember the clouds hanging over the crest, not coming to the valley to give us rain.<br />This week, for watery Wednesday, I have photos of water in the lower Owen's river taken near the old Lone Pine depot. They have put in just enough water to green up the old river bed and keep a slow river flowing.Martha Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15797951661712327698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343122535318547716.post-61800234231466440772009-10-16T05:36:41.658-07:002009-10-16T05:36:41.658-07:00Wow, cool clouds, love the mountains in the pic to...Wow, cool clouds, love the mountains in the pic tooAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06578655552186105741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6343122535318547716.post-70524352873548050782009-10-16T04:00:58.036-07:002009-10-16T04:00:58.036-07:00I haven't had the opportunity to spend much ti...I haven't had the opportunity to spend much time in desert areas so I especially enjoy the photos and commentary.
